need help in file formats settings of BD Reduilder

Hello,
I need help to output to several different formats such as mp4, mkv, and to apple movie support on their devices. my wife picked up 2 kindle fire`s and a cheap apple knoc off called coby mp3 player with a very small screen as well as a MIbook. I have no iodea what file format the MIbook takes. I have tried mp3 songs and mp4 movie formats. any help and information is greatly appriciated,
