I'm converting 5.1 DTS audio to 5.1 AC3.
The choice is between Aften AC-3 or FFmpeg AC-3, which is better?
Also, should I input the entire DTS-HD Master audio to MeGUI or is it sufficient to just use DTS-Core?

To decode DTS-MA you need ArcSoft decoder installed and use eac3to.
With this way you can recode directly to AC3 with Aften.
To use the standard MeGUI Audio recode you need the DTS-Core.
Then you can select between Aften and ffmpeg. Same author for both encoders, maybe last ffmpeg have light improvements.

I realized I did have eac3to on my HDD with Sonic CinePlayer codec installed.
Will the sonic codec be able to decode DTS-MA as well?
When I use eac3to, it says "Decoding with DirectShow (Sonic Audio Decoder)...

Madshi say:
"The Sonic DTS decoder is very good for DTS, DTS-ES, DTS-96/24, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution tracks. The only problem is that it decodes DTS-HD 7.1 tracks only as 5.1"
Then for 5.1 is ok.

OK, I remember reading that too, but wasn't quite sure.
