MeGUI forced and Soft subs

hey all,

I was wondering if i could use MeGUI (and another other software) to add various subtitles to my blu ray MKVs

What i want to achieve is having forced subs (e.g Avatar Na'vi subs) along with soft subs. That regardless if i turn subs on or off, the foreign language subs will always show and still allow me to have complete subs if i need them.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to do that. That's actually quite simple.

Just make 2 subtitle streams, one for the forced subs and one for the entire move.

Load the forced subs into the AVS script when you create it which will encode the subs directly into the movie. There is an option in the AVS Script creator in MeGUI that lets you load this.

Then, during the muxing step, load up the whole movie subtitles as a stream.

I actually did something similar with Avatar. Loaded up the forced subtitles, even used Papyrus Font and matched the colors to the BD when I burned them into the main movie. Then removed those specific subtitles from the main subtitle track (to prevent overlap) and muxed it into the movie.
