i can not find a lame GUI which will encode MP3 to 144Kbps CBR

choices are always 128kbps then 160kbps

i thought i had it with Lame Front End but i was setting all my options for 144kbps but when the job started it clearly showed the command line being used and it was 128kbps.

MeGUI used to support 144 CBR in earlier builds but not in the latest builds

say ive got a file 160Kbps and i wanna encode it to 144kbps

please...whats the simplest way?

The "--freeformat" option in Lame which allows these odd bitrates has not changed in years so I assume the "gui" is to blame.

Why not simply use the command line to encode your file(s)?

please...whats the simplest way?
lame --freeformat -b 144 xyz.wav
