If you select "Mode", "Alternate Movie-Only Playlist", you can then choose the playlist of your choice. If you are trying to select the main title of the movie, there can be more than one playlist that is available. Look at the number of chapters for the playlists and compare that to what the main title has when played from PowerDDVD or TMT or your standalone, etc... this can be tricky but usually is successful. ;)

I believe you mean Other Movie-Only Playlist. Yes, I've tried that method and the only 2 choices are between a playlength of 27:05 and one of 17:52. Not correct either...

This one might be an AnyDVDHD issue. If you run BDInfo on this title, the only mpls playlist that contains the main movie m2ts file lists it twice (along with two smaller m2ts files) yielding a 60+ GB playlist. Clown_BD also fails to list the main movie as a choice and if fed the mpls, generates a 60+GB m2ts file with 2 sequential copies of the main movie in one m2ts file.
You could a)report it to Slysoft and hope for a fix, b)feed just the main movie m2ts file into Clown_BD losing the chapter marks and then run BDRB on it or c)run the main movie mpls through multiAVCHD which generates an output with only one copy of the movie (~30 GB) which can be fed into BDRB preserving chapter marks.
I lent my copy to a friend who headed off on a multi week vacation and don't have a log for Slysoft to look at.
That said, I wish BDRB did list all mpls playlists in "Alternate Movie-Only Playlist" over a certain configurable size and/or length although it probably wouldn't help with this title.

Yes, I did mean "Other" :o
You could use BDInfo (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/BDInfo) to see all available playlists and then manually use tsMuxer to open that playlist and create a movie only Blu-ray.
I have never had BD-RB not see all available playlists, unless they were less than the default size. :confused:
From the HIDDENOPTS text file:
MIN_PLAYLIST_MINS=n n = minimum size (in minutes, default=15) for a playlist to a movie-only choice

Thanks for all the help :D
I did manage to pick out the individual movie file with Clown and all went well. My original concern was based on BDRB being confused when choosing Movie-Only file. Has this happened to others (people or movies)?
Thanks again

Thanks again There is really nothing on the disc that says "I am the main-movie playlist" -- so BD-RB runs down a checklist and chooses the one that is most probable to be the feature based upon several criteria. It's right 99%+ percent of the time -- but occasionally you have to go to the "Other Playlist" option and choose another...
I can guarantee that all playlists are found. If they aren't -- then the disc isn't compliant or the playlist you're attempting to use is less than the minimum size.

In that case this is an example of a non-compliant disc.

Having done a couple thousand in testing, I have never seen one that was missing a playlist...

As initially explained earlier, for playlists, the only 2 choices were between a playlength of 27:05 and one of 17:52. These did not contain the movie.

As explained earlier -- if the playlist isn't showing, there is a problem with the disc. Has it been edited in any way?

As I posted earlier in this thread. I'm seeing the same BDRB behavior ripped with the latest version of AnyDVDHD (licensed). This happens with no editing or other processing. BDRB does not show the main movie playlist as either the default or one of the "Other Movie-Only Playlist" choices.
The main movie m2ts file is easy to identify as 00000.m2ts (35,190,233,088 bytes). The only playlist on the disc containing 00000.m2ts is 00020.MPLS. BDInfo (v.0.5.8) reports 00020.MPLS as;
Name: 00020.MPLS
Length: 1:52:32.954 (h:m:s.ms)
Size: 35,193,792,192 bytes

The BD-ROM plays fine in TMT5 and a standalone. The AnyDVDHD rip plays fine in TMT5. It seems to play as the playlist describes; the first 15 secs of 00000.m2ts followed by all of 00002.m2ts followed by the rest of 00000.m2ts.
I can't remember ever seeing a disc before with a playlist that only played part of an m2ts followed by a different m2ts and then the rest of the earlier m2ts but given my basic knowledge level, I wouldn't even hazard a guess on whether it's legal and/or common.
As I reported earlier, CLOWN_BD also doesn't show the main movie as a choice and if fed the 00020.mpls playlist as input, produces a 60+ GB output with two copies of the main movie in one m2ts file. multiAVCHD processed the disc with the appropriate length/size/sequence as shown by BDInfo and I used that as input to BDRB to do a movie only backup with chapter marks and subtitles.
I'm not sure it's relevant but the only other time I reported a BDRB issue was a long time ago when you posted you'd never seen an audio sync issue. I reported 3 discs which you subsequently verified as due to BD authoring errors but graciously enhanced BDRB in two much appreciated seperate revisions to handle. I understand the rules here and wouldn't waste your time if I'd broken or bent them.
If you'd like to take a look at the index files etc, or I can provide any other info, let me know what you need (and where I can upload them) in this thread. I don't stop here often other than to check for BDRB revisions but I'll try to remember to monitor this thread. (I rarely log in).
Thanks Capsbackup for pointing me to "MIN_PLAYLIST_MINS". I should have remembered that...

There's nothing illegal about that. Odd, yes, but not illegal.
I don't see a title in your post. What disc is it that is showing this behaviour?

Same as the OP. It's the only title being discussed in this thread.

You know, I'm tired of smart-ass answers from people who are asking for my help. The sense of entitlement of people these days really pisses me off.
I'm walking away from this discussion. You guys are all grown up -- figure it out for yourselves. Better yet, write a new program yourselves.

I apologize for annoying you. Please rest assured I will never ask for your assistance or report any issues to you again.
We evidently have such different concepts of what constitutes polite behavior that it precludes any civil dialogue. I never imagined my response would annoy you. I thought and still think, it was a polite response drawing your attention to the fact that both stereofink and my posts were about the same title even though that seemed obvious from the thread.
moving on...
EDIT: Just for the record...
I didn't post here asking for help. I posted trying to be helpful.
I'd already found a workaround that met all my needs. I posted some info on my workaround that I thought stereofink might find useful and later posted to confirm to jdobbs that another user had seen the same issue (along with some related disc info that I thought might shed light on the issue).

:rolleyes: Typical reaction from the "I'm entitled" crowd. You make inappropriate remarks, and then wonder why others don't appreciate it. Since you appear to need some enlightenment on standard civil behavior when asked a question from someone who is giving you help for free, here's and example of a polite response:
A simple statement providing the name of the disc I requested.
Don't go away mad... just go away.

Please re-read this thread and get your facts right sir.
I didn't ask for your help. I tried to help the OP with workarounds to the issue he reported. I tried to help you by providing information about the title discussed in this thread.
I didn't need your help. As I posted, I'd already found a fully functional workaround a week before this thread started.
Then again, if you were familiar with the thread you were posting in, you wouldn't have asked for the title and I wouldn't have tried to politely save you the trouble of re-reading the thread. I can't even begin to imagine why you found my response so annoying and frankly, I don't care.
I sympathize somewhat with your experiences with some other users but it is ridiculous to vent at someone not even remotely guilty of that behavior.
The only time I've asked for help here was in 12/2009 when as a new user, I asked for assistance on setting up 2-pass encoding. Even then, I tried to help others with information on installing the VC-1 codec on XP without having to install WMP 11, something I figured out on my own. Capsbackup politely pointed me at the solution as he did in this thread when I mentioned it would be nice to be able to set the size for alternate playlists.

I had a much better interaction with you on 9/10 when I confirmed the audio sync issues that another user reported and tried to help with additional information.

Foolishly, that led me to believe my attempt to help you here would again be treated politely. It's a mistake I won't repeat.

Nice... real nice... I spend thousands of hours writing free software for people -- and I somehow have to take smart-ass remarks from them too. So you were helping me, eh? They why didn't you just answer a simple question instead of the wise commentary? I'll tell you why -- because you either thought you were being clever, or you are fairly dense. I dont know which is true, so I guess you'd have to tell me.
The thread isn't about one title -- in fact it's about anything but... of course you'd like to justify your inappropriate response somehow...
I should just walk away, but now I guess you'll want me to wade through another verbose response rather than as simple "I'm sorry for being a wise-ass". I guess I won't hold my breath for that one will I?

@stereofink
I finally got this disc delivered (don't know why it took so long). I can take a look at it now -- I'll let you know what I find.
