I knew that Android has some restricted for HD Video format to streaming over HTTP, one of that is Baseline profile. But baseline has it limited such as no CABAC & B-frame so I don't want it. As far now I've tried several setting (with high profile) to make my galaxy tab 10.1(android 3.1) able to stream over HTTP such as set b-frame to 0, ref-frame to 1 but no luck. I take a look at youtube 720p video format, there's an article at http://www.streaminglearningcenter.com/articles/youtube-does-720p-hd-using-h264.html , I see that youtube encode mp4 file with high profile, and my glxy-tab10 able to stream that file over HTTP.
So question are:
1. what I've missed in my encode x264 setting?
2. I want my mp4 video able to stream over HTTP for most android device, is it safe to use high profile?

You need to sweat the actual hardware more than the Android version in the end. Different chipsets can have very different limitations. Android is kind of a mess for publishing "universal" streams or media players.

yep, but I mean on the same hardware, my galaxy tab10 with Tegra2 processor, I think it's good enough to stream HTTP, even more, it able to stream from youtube 720p - high profile encoding.
So, I think maybe I used wrong x264 encode setting???
How are you streaming and how are you playing the stream on the tablet? When you compare to "Youtube mp4", do you stream and play that file in exactly the same way?
When muxing your MP4 file, have you placed the MOOV atom at the beginning to support progressive download?

I use Apache Httpd in my laptop call http://192.168:15.30:8080, browse use Internet browser and open mp4 file use system video player.
I place my mp4 and youtube video in apache docs root.

I encode my video with meGUI. Also try use 0 for b-frame, and 1 for ref-frame, remove "Atom free" at the end of video but still not success to streaming.
