DGIndex - Multi-Video Vob and IFO?

Hello, I just want to say hello to all and thank you in advance for taking the time to read this request.

I am currently creating solid avi archives of my old Doctor Who collection and I stumbled across a dvd that has the original video AND the CGI edited video contained in one vob.

Using DGIndex, as I skim thru the episode, it will at various times, start stuttering and you can see 2 second glimpses of the old video and then 2 second glimpses of the "new" video - I suspect that in order for me to be able to properly 'rip' the "CGI" episode, I'm going to have to edit the IFO on said ripped copy of the DVD and edit the pointers for the chapter information.

Is this correct? If so, do I use IFOEdit? If this is not correct, please educate me properly :)

When you rip you have to rip only one angle at a time.

For example, in DVDDecrypter:

Tools/Settings/File Mode/Options/Multi Angle Processing

Wow.... Been encoding now for almost 6 years and with an answer like that, I feel like a complete and total n00b! LOL!

This method worked fine on one DVD, however, on another one, if I deselect either of the angles, it deselects both available angles and wont let me stick to just one. Also noticed that Chapter One deselects as well.

I'm assuming this method isn't going to work on this particular DVD:(

Any thoughts?

K, figured it out:

Using the latest IfoEdit, open up the 'beefiest' ifo file in the dvd... this would contain all the pointer information for chapters/angles/audio.

Navigate to the tab at the top of the progam labelled > Movie Only > Strip Streams

Under the Angles tab, select Remove Angles which will ungrey the selection to choose which Angle to keep.

Choose your desired Angle

Select your Destination directory and then select 'OK'

Make sure 'correct ifo tables' is checked off and leave all the other settings at their default values, then select 'Strip it'

Leave the defaults selected and select 'Strip it' once again

The process could take up to 10min and once done, open up your favorite DGIndex and select your new found vobs


Voila! Let the magic happen!

In addition, processing with PGCDemux works like a champ as well. It will let you load in all necessary vobs, select your angle version, and then output to an MPEG2 file completely compatible with DGIndex.
