View Full Version : DNxHD no recompression

I am delivering big (20GB) episodes in DNxHD and sometimes I got to do small corrections. It is extremely annoying to render the whole project once again only to change a few frames or audio.
Is there any way to correct certain parts of video without recompressing the whole video in Avisynth?

not with avisynth; it frameserves uncompressed video & audio
you could apply your changes to those specific sections, then render them out, then join them back with original segments with something like quicktime pro, since dnxhd is I-frame format

if there's fixing that is better done in avisynth (some is - morphing over a glitch for instance), do it to a defined segment and re-insert that in your editing app (FCP for instance).
i feel your pain, but really avisynth is what it is, and editing apps are what they are.
in a post-production workflow, avisynth is a support app - use it for tasks that only it can do. use it for small segments of an online edit, or for processing all your rushes in one batch (it's great at making certain canon still cameras look good).
