I have had a search and I couldn't find anybody else suffering the same problem. So hopefully that's because the answer is simple and I'm just being simple.
I'm trying to convert a video I've cut with Windows Live Movie Maker 2011. It encodes with WMV3 codec, which raises my first question, is x264 100% compatible with this codec?
It is stored in a wmv file, which Megui does not list in its supported file types. However it can open the file when 'all files' are selected. Is there a reason for this?
Anyway, when the end product h264 file runs, it looks almost fine except every maybe ten seconds or so the video skips, it looks as if just one or two consecutive frames are distorted. So, basically a quick flash of distortion and then it returns to normal, until of course the problem repeats itself. Any ideas on why I'm getting this problem.
The original video is encoded at 29fps, due to the videos obtained off of my camera and I thought it best to sustain this frame rate through all processes.
Oh and I get the same problem if I encode in Xvid.
