Editing audio in VOB

I have received several DVD volumes authored by a 3rd party.

The audio levels in these programs was never properly recorded or normalised, so they contain sections when the audio is too low, so users turn up there volume. The next track features and a much higher volume, so they need to turn down. And so it goes.

The original author and source files are no longer available. I'm quite capable of extracting the audio files from the VOBs with say MPEG Streamclip, demux as AIFF, pull into Soundtrack Pro and fix. But how might I re-insert (remux) them back into the VOB in such a way that I don't need to re-author the entire volume ?

Sorry, meant to also say tha I would probably re-encode the AIFF to AC3 before looking to Re-Mux.

Sure, demux teh whole track as one, perform whatever audio processing you think it's needed upon it, then reassemble it back.

Use any of the guides like "Adding subtitles to a DVD". I use pgcdemux, muxman and either vobblanker or pgcedit.

Thanks G. The way I see it there ar e3 parts to this job.

1. Demux

2. Adjust audio

3. Remux

I know how to do the first two but not the third. Can you point me to any specific instructions on how to remux using the utilities you have suggested ?

muxman to remux and vobblanker to replace the old movie with the new one. Muxman doesn't need any guides (do you need an user manual for a hammer?) and how to replace the main movie with vobblanker is either on the author's site or in stickies like Adding subtitles to a DVD.
