I have avi files that were captured from a minidv camcorder and I have a HDTV that can play AVCHD H.264 as well as mpeg2 files from a memory card, and can also hookup to a laptop via hdmi.
Now what is the best way to view these files on the tv that gives me the maximum possible quality ? I’d wish there was a way to just play those uncompressed avi files but if I have to settle for a compressed format then what are my options (other than mpeg2) ? Can I somehow convert these to avchd ? That way I also leave the option open to burn them out to a blu ray disc in future.
