Anyone try this out yet? Does not seem to like MXF files very much, but I'm able to play 18 1080p files simultaneously in the same UI window. Particularly surprising since I'm pulling them from the same network drive.

Hmmm, that site doesn't say if the player is freeware / shareware / trialware / payware / whatever.

Also, the download page doesn't work with Opera 11, therefore

Try Chrome; the beta is free for the moment, but since I'm not affiliated with them at all I don't have any info on the licensing (it is running off FFMpeg N-32141-g4becc86). Just found it to be genuinely interesting, with features I've never seen before.

It's not that new @ all such a view and stuff but you can see immediately they don't target the avg consumer with it but video surveillance system user which makes sense for their design approach with the search function it's like a visual video database.
Though you could enhance it for other usage fields and drive it into more directions such a design approach is very customizable modular buldable you just need the goal defined and their goal seems clearly video surveillance appliances :)
And for this purpose they developed some ideas of how to maximize the video count i guess that part is the most interesting of this player efficiently blend between the preview and the full screen playback including live sources and keeping as many videos alive with as low resources as possible and keeping it warning buzzword "fast and fluid" that's imho the real strength of their doing and efficiently incorporating ffmpeg into it ;)
Though i didn't tried myself how flawless and well optimized this is but i think they put a lot of effort into this part as you already realized a451guy451 (making it seamless so the user doesn't realize things suspend and continue where you left them or search results without interruption)
