View Full Version : lsx, tmpgenc & pulldown.exe problem.

Hi all, I've been working on a single chapter of the Beatles
"yellow submarine" dvd (just for practice).
I've used Smartripper, dvd2avi and Vfapi conversion.
Everything is good so far. The dummy AVI created by vfapi has no audio
so when I use LSX 3.5 to encode it, I get a m2v file, that I have
encoded progressive @ 23.96 fps.
My plan at this point is to run the PULLDOWN.EXE (downloaded from
doom9.org) to set the 2:3 pulldown flags, multiplex the sound mp2
file using tools/multiplex in tmpgenc and burn the mpg file to a
cdrw.
However, the mpg file is bad, the video ends about 10 seconds
before the sound, so you get the final frame "frozen" while the
sound continues. It does that in the table-top dvd machine (raite 715) and I verified that it occurs in Media player also.
If I skip the pulldown.exe step and just multiplex the sound as-is,
it plays fine in MS media player, but it will not burn to disk,
because it's progressive/23.96 fps.
I reaslize I could skip LSX and use tmpgenc for the whole thing, but
LSX has a better image with animation SVCD stream (imho).
Any clue as to what is wrong with my lsx/pulldown/tmpgenc mux
method?
regards,
Dave
