In DGindex 1.5.8, I have run into a few DVDs where the demuxed audio will loose sync between titles.
Here's a rundown of the steps I use (I works fine for most stuff, and it's quicker for me since I like to encode the entire contents of a disc)
I load a full set of VOBs in dgindex (VTS_01_x.vob) using honor pulldown flags
I'll feed the d2v file to virtualdub via an .avs with DGDecode_Mpeg2Source, and the ac3 audio with nicAC3Source
In virtualdub, the audio will start out completely in sync, but on some discs the audio will fall behind later on, always at title changes, despite not changing vobs.
I can tell this is not a problem with the rip, as the audio is in sync when playing the files as a DVD. From what I've been able to find, the problem is caused by the audio for one title being a few frames shorter than the video, and the demuxed audio domes not have the timecodes to compensate.
Is there a way to use the timecodes to compensate for the missing frames so I can use the same trims for both the audio and video, or is the only way around this problem to index each title/episode/trailer separately on discs where this is an issue?
