Hi,

I noticed I was having this problem when I started to make menus for my VCDs. The picture seems to be too big for the actual screen (like the edges are cut off). When I play them on my computer they are fine, but when I use my TV there cut. I have used VCDeasy and TSCV to encode and burn...so i presume something wrong with my encoding. I got this message when TSCV started to write the image file.

front margin set smaller than recommended (0
rear margin set smaller than recommended (0

Whether or not that means anything I dont know. I got it before it started scanning...

Please help, thanks

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, you just haven't compensated for TV overscan. Many (most?) TVs have overscan. If you compare your DVDs and VCDs carefully between TV playback and PC playback, you'll notice that you can't see all off the movie frame on the TV either. This is normal.

To ensure that all of your menu is visible on the TV screen, just make sure the content is contained in a rectangle about 20 pixels smaller on each edge than full VCD resolution (i.e. 312x248). In other words, give your menus a border, preferably the same color as the menu background.

damn...but with my actual movie/tv show encodes to vcd they are also affected...how do I fix them? Im pretty sure it doesnt happen on all my encodes (i remember my early ones fitting fine), but recently they have been getting 'cropped'.
