View Full Version : Are These Speeds Right?

I'm encoding a small 1 minute sample of a Family Guy (720x540 episode at 1500 kB/s with XviD and seeing some dramatic speed reduction when enabling certain filters. Just wondering if these seem normal with a E8500 @ 3.89 GHz.

Filters : Speed

MPEG2Source + TIVTC + Spline36Resize (640x480) = 65-80 FPS

MPEG2Source + TIVTC + Spline36Resize (640x480) + FFT3DFilter = 12-14 FPS

I know there's a GPU version, but that doesn't seem to work for me. It outputs a garbled mess of a video and causes weird artifacts if ran for too long.

Try TNLMeans instead of FFT3dFilter. If you configure TNLMeans accordingly, instead of 12 fps you'll get 1.2 fps, or 0.12 fps, or 0.012 fps, depending on radius & windowsize. :D

Oh, to the question ... yes, that seems reasonable for that filter and that CPU, in a single-threaded Avisynth chain.
