Using the 2nd pass stat file

I have been experimenting with ripping a movie and I always use the double pass. The problem is that I always do the double pass and get the stat file, even though I have checked the file before, i have to do it everytime. Because I'm experimenting I change many small things such as DRF and the curve compression and crosspoint. I wanna know what I can change without having to do the first pass over and over.

as long as you are using the same resolution for first and second pass it should be ok.

Does it just store movement? or does it do any calculations for the bitrate curve while making the stat file?

these settings will only affect the the second pass. they do not affect the first pass. so once again, as long as your resolution for both passes is the same it should be ok.

Are you sure it is only about resolution ? Every guide I read saying that if you change filter's settings you need rerun 1st pass. So I assumed that stats file can be reused until you touch resize settings, filter's settings, filters order..
