Some time ago, I asked for help on solving what seemed to be a slight ghosting issue on one of the chapters of my "Rocko's Modern Life" DVDs. It was eventually decided that it would have taken too much work to implement a solution and it was not worth it.
However, on a different part of the DVD, I have now found some pretty awful blending. Like the ghosting, it is very sporadic, but unlike it it's very noticeable. Here is a 13MB vob sample showng the issue at its worst:

Please have a look at it and help me solve or at least mitigate this. Thanks in advance.

I suspect that you are using directshow which is producing the blending (via Mpeg2 decoder using
deinterlace), using DGIndex, is definitely combed in (mostly) 3/2 pattern.

I can assure you that's not the case. I originally noticed the issue on an intermediate YV12 Lagarith encode, then confirmed it twice: once by playing the scene back in VLC and then by stepping through it in a bare Avisynth script with just DGDecode's MPEG2Source(). I am also pretty sure all windows codecs are disabled and that only ffdshow is decoding all video in my machine.

Oh dear, did not mean to fluster you, sorry for my mistake.
My lo-rez eyes still dont see any blending. I do see something that looks like a
variety of compression artefact (ringing or halo, not sure which is which),
maybe I need a better set of eyes. Might help someone else (with a better
set of optics) to ID the problem if you could point it out by frame and area.
What I saw was most prominent at about frame 660, the two maids
headwear, (the spikey bits). Hope you find a solution. :)
EDIT: perhaps some chroma mis-alignment frm 136, upper maids hand rhs.

Oh no, you did not fluster me at all, I apologize if that post came up as that. :(
One part where the artifacting I am mentioning is when Rocko is screaming: you can see the parts of the uvula in a darker color that seems to come from the inside of the mouth on previous frames. The roof of Rocko's mouth also has exhibits some ghosting from previous frames in a couple of parts. There are other examples, but those are the most noticeable ones. I'll see about posting screenshots later.

Whoops sorry Chainmax, I seem to be commenting on the wrong clip from a different thread.
(It aint just my eyes that are dodgy!).
Aarh, I see my mistake, I have several download options, downloading to different directories
and I was looking at the wrong directory. Now looking into the correct directory, I find
that I have 2 copies of your clip (as I just downloaded again).

No one? I came to think that this is just a source "feature" that cannot be removed, but I would really appreciate it if one of you guys could download the sample and have a look at it.
