Problems running DivX through SVHS

I just got my new computer up and running. I have a Radeon VE 64mb graphicscard with tv-out. It turns out that the only thing that works on my tv is PowerDVD. The picture on the tv is great, but i can't watch movies in neither Windows Media Player or tha Playa. This is really annoying because most of my movies are .avi files. What is strange is that when i start the movies in media player or playa the movie is great on my monitor, but in the tv the field where the movie is playing its all black, even though i have the desktop in full color in the back...Please help me out anyone!! i have tried to remove the macrovision put it could not find the right file to modify. Why will not DivX files be played..???

Some "multi-monitor" video cards, such as ATI, can only send video to a single monitor. It's the one labelled "Primary" in your display settings in the control panel. If your PC is "primary" then you won't see video thru the TV, unless you set it to "primary".

Thanx, i'll give it a try. But if this is the case, why does vcds and svcds played in PowerDVD show up on both screens...?
