Hello jung,
From the ISO file that's created it seems JRip31 appends a ";1" to the end of each file within the VIDEO_TS folder. Keep in mind that this is on a Linux Desktop running JRip31 within Wine. It may be different for people running Windows. A couple of converters I tried refused to see the VIDEO_TS folder as valid. After removing the ";1" from the end of each file the converters worked fine.

Like I said it may be a Linux/Wine specific problem. Could someone on a Windows machine please check to see if the same holds true for you as well?

Make sure that this is neither a matter of OS nor a matter of JRip31.
Have you tried to view a dump list of commercial DVD disc ?

When I browse the actual VIDEO_TS folder on the DVD movie ("The Big Year"), there is no ";1" appended to the end of each file, if that is what you mean by dump list.

Oddly, I had the same problem with another application one time previously named BDLot ISO Master (free version). IMO, it acts a great deal similar to JRip when trying to decrypt a DVD disc.

BTW, I have no way to test JRip31 on a Windows OS since I don't run it on any of my 4 home computers.

";1" exists in "Directory Record for VIDEO_TS" in every commercial DVD disc; JRip31 does not append anything as suffix.
As I mentioned earlier, this is a matter of tools you are using.

Before posting, remember that you are rattling the wrong cage.

I didn't realize I was rattling any cages. No offense was meant. I'm only stating what I am experiencing while using JRip31. The files within the VIDEO_TS folder on the DVD do not contain any appended ";1", yet in the ISO created by JRip31 they exist. As I have said previously, it could be a Linux/Wine specific problem. What more can I say?

Like I keep mentioning, JRip31 does nothing on filenames.
OK, let me show you an example "binary" dump list of a sector on a commercial DVD disc.

Almost all commercial DVDs contain file information in two types of File Structure (ISO/UDF bridge):
- Directory Record for VIDEO_TS in ECMA-119 File Structure
- File Identifier Descriptor (FID) for VIDEO_TS in UDF(Universal Disk Format) File Structure

The latter does not contain ";1", but the former does.

The example shows the former (Directory Record for VIDEO_TS in ECMA-119 File Structure).

Meanwhite, the former (ISO File Structure) is proveded so that personal computers can read files in a DVD for their directory listing.
Your tools might have read filenames in the above data as ASCIIZ string.

Remarks: JRip31 was compiled on Windows XP; I don't know how it behaves on Unix environment.

Obviously it's the OS environment that I'm using that's causing the problem.

Thanks again, and thanks for your terrific application. I can still use it...I'll just have to unzip the iso and manually remove ";1" from each file.

I don't know what you are doing with JRip31 and why you should remove ";1" because I'm working on Windows XP different from yours.

But I'm happy to know you are enjoying this tool.
