Hello,
this is how it looks with MPC HC and WMP (correct):

And so it looks like with VLC (wrong):

What's going wrong?
It should be a normal H.264 BT709 I420 8bit video with TV range, why does VLC mess it up? :(

I know that VLC is crap but unfortunately many people still use it and so the video has to work even with it.

Maybe VLC trys to be "smart" and assumes that a PC resolution video is also PC levels?
I don't know.

Seems to be an accurate assumption - because if the video has PC levels it looks right.
But of course it looks wrong with other players then. :devil:

So, there may be no solution, I'm afraid?

it's the tv/pc brightness issue. Change video renderer to say, opengl, and it'll go away.
