I want to encode a dvd to divx on more PC's.
Do you know a program that does it?

Thx!

You mean parallel processing within a cluster?

i think, yes :)
for example, i turn on 8 pc's and the server. The server says for the first pc: encode the frames 0-25000, for the second pc: encode the frames 25001-50000 and so on... Is it possible somehow?

I don't know...that best I could think is serve individual VOBs from the server to separate machines and then append them all together in the end. But that would require you to set up each machine manually. If anyone's got a better idea, I'd be interested to hear it as well.

Just a thought:
Maybe a mosix cluster http://www.mosix.org/ under Linux and Drip
http://freshmeat.net/projects/drip/ could do the job,...

Ps.: Some Linux folks might try it,..

Thank you, it's a good idea, but I search for a program that runs on Windows. And I think that there are more people who use Windows, and just because the cluster program runs under linux, they don't install that (except when it saves days :)).

Thank you again,
