HY there,

great software that DVD2SVCD thing :-) Works fine for me.

But one problem stays and maybe someone here can help me:

I have a hauppauge WinTV PVR Video card. I can record tv programs and videos with it. If I record to SVCD format, the quality is really bad. Now I would like to convert these films with DVD2SVCD. The video card software generates something like a pva output. I say "something" because the software ends with ".mpg". Renaming to ".pva" doesn't work. DVD2SVCD still does not recognize the video stream. I can convert that stream to real MPG2 format by the software ??instrumento?? Sorry, I don't have the exact name here at work.

Is there some way to feed DVD2SVCD with that stream or to convert it bevore to .avi so that DVD2SVCD can handle it?

What software can I use to cut and combine the video stream?

greetings

Ok, now I tried out a few things.

I thing the PVA to SVCD funktion would work well for me ..

But I still have a problem:

My files have the ending .mpg. They are really some sort of mpg files and not pva files. If I rename them to pva, the pva2svcd function will recognize them. But now the pvainstrumento ?? programm will fail because of the wrong ending.

What I would have to do to get a working result:

Pvainstrumento has to read the file with the mpg extension. Then the whole process which is done for the pva files should be used.

So the only thing is - how can I get dvd2scvd to accept the ending .mpg?

Is there some way how I can do it that way?

Greetings
