i have just successfully multiplexed a divx video stream with a ogg audio stream without synch errors and perfect seeking.

want to know how go here http://www.stud.fernuni-hagen.de/q5045045/

this method(using graphedit)puts both streams inside a file with a ogg extension and plays with windblows media player using directshow filters.

the audio is encoded at 64kbits\sec and sounds great.

Latest version you want to use of HeadAc3he is probably .21a5

I'm gaving great success with using Ogg files out of HeadAC3he. Also, test out the new 6ch mode for Ogg and report feedback.

Hi Doom,

They play back just fine on my 5.1 system. The only problem I'm trying to fix is that the dialog is only present in the right front and rear speakers. No sound out of the center speaker yet. It seems this problem is something to do with PP's plugin in WinAmp.

Tobias promised a multichannel version of his Vorbis DSF when subtitles are implemented in the Ogg format .....

@matter

I cannot be PP's in_vorbis plug-in, as diskwriter is ok, so it must be windows or the out plug-in making wrong things.

@DarkAvenger

I think your right. The mappings are a bit whacky on the output. Let's hope Tobias can fix this with the DSF.

Hmmm.. how do you get your amplifer to understand the signal? is it converted to Dolby Digtal or something? Or do you have a sneaky soundcard+software with 6 outputs?

No external amp can use the Vorbis stream ... his soundcard decodes to an analog 5.1 outut, connected to the 5.1 input of the receiver

Ok, then he uses a sneaky soundcard :) I've got spdif out, is it possibly to convert the vorbis stream to something the amplifer understand during playback? realtime?

Some sp/dif expert? Is it possible to send 6ch pcm over it? I know we can send 96kHz, so this means theor. it has the bandwidth for 4ch 48kHz. But what about more?

whooaoa... that's exatcly what i tought... almost every amplifers can handle PCM. But the real question I want to know is if it can handle multichannel PCM?

Anyway, most users do not have a analog 5.1 output on their soundcard, but spdif is almost a standard today. It would be nice if it worked!

Hi Guys!

Chris is correct. I'm using a Zoltrix Nightingale Pro 5.1 card which has coax, optical and 5.1 analog outs. Guess which one is hooked up to the amp? I'm running the analogs to my multi-channel inputs on my Sony amp:)

Multi-channel PCM? Well I've never really tried it. In fact if you will show me a software player thaqt supports this I'll try it this weekend when I get back home. AFAIK MC WAV files can not be played properly but I should test it using WinAmp. What's the purpose of this anyway? An MC PCM file would be huge!

DarkAvenger

No, it is just about sending mc pcm to the receiver, which means "lossless" sending to the receiver...(after decoding ogg for example)

DA, i know SPDIF can do 24 Bit/96 Khz, even with multiple channels because the format was designed for studio use also AFAIK ... the problem is all the receivers out there won't understand it IMHO ....
