(SOLVED)-Strange DVD error - AnyDVDHD

While testing out the 6.8.9.0 version, I get this error, while trying to decrypt Russell Howard - Right here right now

Not too sure if i should go ahead and rip it and taking a chance, I have tested it with dvdfab and it seems to decrypt it

Edit: looking on the back of the case, it says its protected by ripguard and ACP

Could it simply be because your drive has a different region code to the disc, as per the error message?
I still use RipIt4Me and if I recall correctly a drive/disc region mismatch causes RipIt4Me to offer a warning message about having to use a brute force method, or something similar.

no thats not the case as the drive is set to the same region as the dvd and has been since i bought it over 2 months ago, this is the first dvd that i have bought that gives me this error

I would always use one of the well established freewares (like dvd decrypter) before spending money on something.

IIRC the corporation then named Macrovision asked for removal of DVD decrypter from all sites, simultaneously with the introduction of Ripguard. Like Sony did with FixVTS. Or at least tried to.
That means for me that these two SW are able to pass through the protection - if not why bother? :) They would have been shown as "victims" - see, even ri4m can't do it.

If you want an 1click software to do the dirty job, you'll end sooner or later into troubles. Better will be to learn yourself the fine art of riping a DVD.

i used dvd decrypter and fixvts for years untill they hit a few snags on some of the dvds i had, where as anydvd went over them no issue, guess i just got lazy in my old age :)

Hi!

My quick search (using my poor search skills) appears to indicate that this DVD was released (and only released in the UK) in mid-November. I'd suggest that, if you haven't already done so, you check at the SlySoft forum to see if this DVD is problematic for AnyDVD.

Usually the warning message means only one thing.

Post an image of AnyDVD status window with the DVD in the drive.

Or why not just ask on the SlySoft forum and post a logfile for the DVD there aswell.

Yes that was my thinking when i saw the error, guess i will have to wait, i did look there but didnt see anything.

Seems it was a drive issue, put it in my windowx xp box and it didnt say a region was set, yet under windows 7 it said region 2, changed it in XP and then put it back in Win 7, all working fine now :)

IIRC the internal DVD drives sold separately do not have Region code set from factory and it's up to user to set it manually (up to 5 changes are allowed normally).
