hi everybody.
Is there any way to know the final output size and bitrate, without encoding whole dvd(with crf 18). Later i am going to apply that bitrate with 2pass encoding. I am intrested in megui.

Huh? Why don't you just keep the CRF 18 encode and be happy with it?

Note: The difference between a CRF encode and a 2-Pass encode of the same average bitrate is negligible.

The only difference is that in the CRF case you can't know the resulting average bitrate (and thus the final size) beforehand.

You may try to encode only a short segment of the source with CRF mode and then extrapolate to the final size of the complete movie.

But this can easily go wrong, because the bit-cost, at constant CRF value, may vary between different scenes...
