Seeking an open source video player without embedded codecs

Hello all,
I have Windows 7 N edition, but don't want to install oficial Media Feature Pack. I want to use chain 'Haali Media splitter' + 'ffdshow' + 'some video player', and don't want to use any 'all in one pleyer' (or it may be a player which can use external demuxers/codecs).
I tried VLC, Mplayer, and they are used embedded codecs. So, what player i need? It is preferred it to be a open source.

You can download the latest nightly build (buggy, problematic) from xvidvideo.ru. The milestone releases are on their official sourceforge site. Why everyone points people to nightly releases? I understand that open source projects need testers, but not everyone is a hacker.

Just because it's built from the latest SVN trunk revision doesn't neccesarily mean it's bad or buggy, just more up to date and less tested, it's not like they're uploading changes to the code without trying it themselves after changing it.

I've personally never had problems with svn builds of MPC-HC, and a lot of others probably haven't either, or people wouldn't recommend them.
