Anyone else having problems here? It took me a while to get a valid ISO rip, AnyDVD HD "files to hard disc" and then Imgburn ISO creation. That mounted in Daemon gave me a valid playing ISO.

However DVD RB using either that ISO mounted, the ripped files on the hard drive, or directly from the DVD through AnyDVD HD, I get ISO files that just do not play. Movie "starts" for 2 seconds and then stops.

Good old Disney/Sony. Never seen a DVD structure that they could actually leave as standard compliant!!

Hi,

absolutely no problem here. I used AnyDVD 6.8.7.1 to rip the files to HDD. So I'm pretty confident the current version will also handle the disc. Rip to ISO is not intended to be used for DVDs. It is for BD/HD-DVD. Be sure you didn't check "Remove trailers/warnings" or what it is called.
Which version of AnyDVD do you use? Which region is your disc?
I did a full backup using DVD RB 1.28.2 with no problems.
I also examined the structure of that disc with PGCEdit before I processed it and it was really full of useless jumps and empty titlesets to confuse rippers.

Should have been more clear gg, didn't use AnyDVD HD (6.8.8.0) to make any of the ISO mentioned. To get a working, non-compressed ISO, I used AnyDVD to rip the files to my HDD and then used ImgBurn to make the ISO. I don't have AnyDVD removing any of the files during the rip.

It seems that BDRebuilder Pro 1.28.2 is the one having problems, which is set to full backup. Even if I just have it write to files, it still won't play when I direct PowerDVD to the VIDEO_TS on the hard drive. Just for giggles, I may shift to "Movie Only," WTH, it can't hurt...

NOTE: Figured out the problem, but not the cure. The problem is the initial Language Selection screen. For some reason, that won't play and whatever I'm using ( mounted ISO, HDD VIDEO_TS or burned disc) then locks up. Think I'll just break out a dual-layer, not in the mood to go through editing the DVD flow.

PowerDVD can't read the files from HDD, unless of course is an OEM version below 7.1.
Why did you created an ISO file?

I created the ISO just to make sure my rip was good.

Here's where I stand...

Ripped files to HDD w/AnyDVD HD (6.8.8.0) and created ISO w/ImgBurn using the page break suggested by ImgBurn. That plays fine when mounted in Daemon Tools and the resulting DL is working fine too.

Any permutation or combination of either using that mounted ISO, the ripped files on the HDD or directly through the original DVD w/AnyDVD HD resident as the input for DVD Rebuilder Pro (1.28.0) gives me output that does not work, hanging on an initial language selection screen.

BTW, PowerDVD WILL play files on the HDD. Just make sure there are no DVDs in either the physical drives or logical drives (mounted ISOs). Go into the "Video" tab and direct it to the appropriate VIDEO_TS folder on your HDD and then hit "Play." That's all you need to do.

I'm not sure whether creating an ISO from ripped files proves anything. If the ripper created files on your HDD successfully you can make a ISO of it, that's it. IMO ImgBurn only checks if all the files belong to the standard of a VideoDVD... Load the ripped files into PGCEdit or VobBlanker to see if the rip was successful. Even DVDRB itself scans the structure on opening...

To be honest I altered the navigation of the DVD (nearly completely) and also skipped the language screen. I'll do another full backup with the untouched source to see if it gets stuck there. I had trouble using DVD RB's menu encoding feature on sources that have multiple set of buttons in a menu domain, but I checked it and this source doesn't have. So I suppose you have menu encoding enabled?

PowerDVD 11 CAN play Blu-rays from HHD. :helpful:

I finally made a full backup with the unprocessed files. I had no errors on rebuilding but playback doesn't work. I don't even come to the langusge selection screen because VMGM points to VTSM17, Angle Menu but VTSM17 changed to VTSM16 on rebuilding. I asssume this happened because of titlesets with no titles assigned to PGCs.

I suggest to repair the structure before using DVD RB like I did before.
