Cropping software for AVIs

I have a dozen AVIs (Divx 4.12 & MP3) that I would like to crop to removethe the black top and bottoms. What's a good program that can do and preserve quality while taking advantage of the potential for smaller file size? Would be nice if VirtualDub or NanDub did, but for some that's one feature (cropping) they don't have. Maybe there's an addon filter out there?

This has been asked for pretty often. If you want to crop off the black bars of an encoded AVI, you'll have to reencode which always degrades quality.

What you're asking for is not possible.
