Problems with sound on a rip

So I bought the movie Cherry (2010) on DVD and want to put it on my computer to watch whenever.

I ripped it with dvd decrypter, then threw it together with stax rip.

Yet everytime, the sound is off. I have tried different programs but its always the same thing (dvdfab did it too).

I tried virtualdubmod to fix the sound but didnt work either. I am starting to pull my hair out because this one movie is giving me so many problems and I have never had a problem like this.

Do you mean out of synch with the video, or do you mean "off" as in silent?

It is out of sync. Right from the start of the movie.

Open the encode with MPC-HC. Use the + and - keys to change the audio delay. MPC-HC will display the delay amount in the status bar. When you're happy, open the AVI with VirtualDubMod and apply that amount of delay.
It'll only work if the audio delay is consistent throughout the movie. If it changes, then it'll probably be a harder fix. Are you converting the audio or keeping the original?

If the delay is constant all over the movie, it may be that the programs you use do not take the audio delay into account (should be less than 300 milliseconds). You can find this delay with pgcdemux among other tools. If pgcdemux fails, then the reason is most probably a bad rip (the copy protections have not been fully eliminated).

I got the sound back on by using MPC, with using the - key, it was off by 5000ms. Now how do I change it to that in vdubmod?

That's likely your problem. DVD Decrypter can't fully remove some newer copy protections. Use the free version of DVDFab HD Decrypter in "Full Movie" mode and you'll get the same set of files, decrypted properly.

Now how do I change it to that in vdubmod?
Click Streams > Stream list, right-click the audio track and select Interleaving... and enter the same value you used in MPC. If you used ABR or VBR MP3 in your file, be sure to select "No" when prompted to rewrite audio headers or your file will be worse than before.

It's VOB cell blanking, common as a final line of DVD defense ...

Can fix it by indexing the DVD with DG Index & select the start point just before the video starts (VOB blanking often occurs seamlessly in "blank" video segments just before the feature film screens) ...

Open the video with VDM. Select Streams/Streams List from the top menu. When the window opens right click on the audio stream (it'll probably be the only stream) and select "Interleaving".
Another window will open up and you'll see a section for Audio Skew Correction. Put your delay amount in there (it can be negative or positive) then select okay to close the window.
Finally save the video as a new AVI. When you open the "save as" dialog, choose "direct stream copy" in the Video Mode drop down box. That'll copy the video stream. Anything else and VDM will try to re-encode it.
