ffmpeg, mencoder binaries for OS X10.4 PPC

Hi,

I know i can extract or get these binaries from ffmpegX but they are older versions. I've searched the net looking for updated universal binaries but can't find anything anywhere. I'm having issues with Macports/Fink - they never compile . Can anyone suggest a site where i might find these apps?

for ffmpeg you may want to compile yourself, i have followed this guide more or less;

Thanks for the advice. I'll check this out and report back how it goes. Truly appreciate it!
Wondering one other thing, with the binary, is there a folder that i can use (like MS' system32) that i can drop the app and Terminal will always find it given its path? I really miss the 'cmd prompt here' that windows has with Dos.

sure 'echo $PATH' should give you some ideas, also check http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2621/os_x_change_path_environment_variable/
(also as general observation: don't be afraid of bash/shell, you will see after some time that is much more usefull and powerfull (and easy to use) than win cli).
Also if you are unsure on which bin is executed then 'which ffmpeg' should give you a clue.

as for "cmd prompt here" i just type cd and drag and drop location from finder usually, that is if the path is long and complex.
