Hello everyone,

We are developing MP4 Format DirectShow Demultiplexer and Multiplexer filters based on GDCL DirectShow Mpeg-4 Filters Sources. (http://www.gdcl.co.uk/mpeg4/)

For now they support ISO Mpeg-4 files containing Mpeg-4 and H.264 video and a variety of audio formats.
Please post here if you will find any bugs or if you have any issues.

hmm is this the same codebase that's used in the 2.4 beta ?
and any specific reason why using Geraint Davies codebase instead of other ones available, i mean except that hes the hero of most dshow devs ;) ?

No, 2.4 beta uses Elecard's MP4 Demuxer and Muxer.

There is no other reason using Geraint Davies codebase, except that you have written :D

i guess you only optimizing for cutting no live video scenarios and if video output only for you own as it doesn't seem to connect to any Video decoder currently (oh forget this another issue with a rather special .mov mux) ;)

You are right, we are making solution for operating with files, but the splitter must be universall of course and should be able to connect to most popular decoders. Which one couldn't you connect?

The problems was a parsing issue of the Video track inside a finalcut quicktime as it has 2 track ids (no idea why) and solveig like many other ISO parser seems to only be able to show the Audio track then so Video decoder couldn't connect because there was no pin to connect to @ all available from the splitter :(

Here is a Mp4 remux with Mp4box the issue propagated over to it :) http://www.mediafire.com/?yx92afb8mrn7r3r many splitter don't find the H.264 video track only a few do. Solveig is one of the strict ones that can't find it i don't think that is a good thing for a cut and edit application though you should be prepared for all kinds of issues coming along this seems to be one, though Apples own Parser happily accepts this .mov and even this .mp4 directly muxed from it :P

Ok, thanks. I'm a bit confused. So, are such files produced by Apple Final Cut, or by MP4BOx? There is big difference :)

Confirm, video is detected by MPC,VCL and Elecard MP4 Splitter. So probably we have to fix that as well

@Cruncher : what is supposed to mean ? You compare oranges & apples (dshow vs the rest) with 1 (borked?) sample...

@Stanislav : can we expect a x64 build ?

Kurtnoise 2 already and im sure we will see the count go up on the (cut) concatenate issue ;)

Only 2 aren't dshow (Apple,VLC) the rest is all dshow, more borked seems mp4box allowing the 2 track ids to slip throu muxing this .mov to .mp4 :(

The demuxer still has a bug on the original gdcl code: video doesn't seek when the graph is stopped. Note that audio works.

license is commercial (contact our support team for futher info), there is no plans to open up source code.

^ Their MP4 muxer is not "full-featured" ( ¿ yet ? ).

For the time being, mp4box and mp4creator still are far better than every DirectShow MP4 muxer I have already tried.
