I have an old computer used for video playback, running Win98 and nVidia drivers v81.98. I recently replaced the graphics card from a 5200 to a 4200, and now resized video playback using Overlay looks worse. There's still filtering going on (bilinear or something), but it's more pixelated and with more swimmy aliasing in motion.
Yes, the card is an older generation, but I don't recall such problems on even older chips such as the TNT. I suspect it may be the drivers (Overlay/VMR seems touchy) but before I embark on trying endless older driver versions, does anyone remember similar problems from the past, and possible solutions?
