It's not overly important, just something I noticed, and I'm wondering if this behaviour is by design. The only video dimensions I've seen exhibit this behaviour is 720x400 (AVIs). It happens when using both the internal and ffdshow decoders.
The long story.....
I open a folder containing (in my case) several AVIs with 720x400 dimensions. I noticed that despite 720x400 not being exactly 16:9, the video in full screen mode fits my 16:9 monitor dimensions exactly (656x368, which is actually closer to 16:9, does not).
Curious, I used the navigation buttons to skip to the next video, and noticed each time I open a video with 720x400 dimensions (not full screen) the left and right sides of the window seem to adjust themselves after the video has opened. This doesn't happen when opening video of other dimensions.
If I use ffdshow to decode, while using the resize filter to resize the video to 720x400, the video is actually a little wider than it is when not using the resize function.
From all the above, it seems for some reason when playing video with 720x400 dimensions, MPC-HC decides to squish it down a little to exactly 16:9. I can't duplicate this behaviour when playing video of any other dimensions, so I'm just curious if this behaviour is by design, and why just 720x400 video?
