I have some BD rips that already have been run through BDRB to get down to BD25 size. With the release of the new version allowing one to edit, I thought I'd give it a try. Just want to get rid of trailers and the junk at the start of the disc and have it go straight to the menu. My question is...if the disc is already at BD25 size, then no re-encoding should take place allowing for a pretty fast processing, correct? If not, could someone explain this to this simpleton:confused: Thanks for a great program!:thanks:

you've said that the movies have already been compressed to fit on a BD-25, and you are intending to take out even more stuff. So, logically, it shouldn't have to do any re-compression and the process should be fairly quick.

But why don't you just give it a try and see for yourself?

I would expect the situation you describe to work best if you choose "High-Speed Option (BD25)".
I expect you will see a number of "Keeping original video (no reencode)" messages flow into the log file.

My bad, should have put in original post that I have tried and I'm seeing it re-encoding. That's what prompted my question.:o

For one thing, JDobbs has repeatedly said that BDRB isn't made for using on pre-processed sources. I assume that means sources processed by BDRB as well.

Is your output set for "high speed option - BD25" like I suggested?

Yeah, sure is. I looked again at my settings and I had convert sd to hd. Turned that off and am trying again. Thanks for helpin'.

All good now...a little common sense goes a long way:stupid:

That would force encoding for SD sources... also make sure you don't have "FORCE_ENCODE=1" in your Config/INI file.

[Edit] Oops... I posted after-the-fact... :)

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Another quick question...when BDRB is multiplexing, should my system be really slow doing other tasks. Q9550 with 4g ram. Idle priority set. Thanks again.

The multiplexing is very disc intensive (but doesn't use much of the processor) -- so if you're doing something that requires significant disc use, yes you'll see a slowdown.

OK, thanks.
