AMD dual core C-50 enough for 1080p video?

Compaq Presario CQ57-205SO laptop seems to be rather cheap for secondary computer, but can it decode 1080p H.264 videos fast enough? Some videos are not compatible with DXVA, so I can solve that problem by encoding those videos again with MeGUI DXVA profile?

It can do it fine once you enable hardware decoding. The GPU is plenty powerful for 1080 H264.

I think DXVA compatible just means L4.1 basically. So you would only have problems if your videos were 1080p with insane bitrate and too many ref frames.

It probably depends on the individual stream.

The bitrate makes a huge difference on the CPU required for decoding, especially with CABAC. There are more influential settings.

Also it depends on the software decoder that is being used for playback...

i have an amd e350 that i have set to underclock to 1.066 ghz when on battery.

it is fast enough for 1080p only with dxva. even at 1.6ghz, that is still the case.
