First off, Thanks! to jdobbs and everyone who make BDRB. It has helped me keep many discs safe from those gnarly 5 year olds. If you haven't seen what they can do to a disc, good for you! I've been using it for about 2.5 years. I have a dualcore Intel something that would process the whole iso in about 7-9 hours. Until around Feb this year, where that time dropped to closer to 20 hours. Ok, it just takes a day, no problems. Now with the Sept. release it's taking much longer, almost 48hrs. And the old familiar folder structure is gone. I mean, no more bdmv and certificate folders, just files in one big working files folder. I can view the mkv(?) stream file and it will play, but it's only a portion of the movie. What am I doing wrong? I'm using an old guide made by miLOtis that has worked flawlessy. I've searched the forums for different words related to this but haven't really found anyone with the same issue. Of course I coudl've missed the thread, too. And jdobbs, how can I contribute to you a smaller amount than the price of the Pro version? Again Thanks! to jdobbs and all involved, what a handy product to save our discs.

The output structure hasn't changed at all -- I think you may have the output set to one of the ALTERNATE MOVIE-ONLY formats. Otherwise it would output to a TITLE/BDMV folder.

There is no Pro version for BD-RB, I'm trying to keep it based on voluntary donations. You can donate any amount by clicking the link in my signature box.

No unfortunately, I have always used 'movie only backup; with dvd-5. Also checking quicker encode for extras. It has worked nicely but speed dropped about Feb, and now it's 48hrs and a folder full of files. I've reinstalled (of course, again) and am trying now. I'll open the workfiles in an hour or so and see what I have. I also usually use normal or high priority because this machine is idle most of the time during the week. Thx for any help.

You have to be looking in the wrong folder. There is the folder you select for output (Working Files). That holds subfolders that have the same name as the disc that are to be burned to disc. Each of those subfolders has a BDMV and CERTIFICATE (if not AVCHD) in it. There is also a WORKFILES subfolder (in the working path) that holds lots of files -- they are all temporary for a particular encode. That folder never gets burned -- and in fact should be of no interest to anyone but BD-RB (or for debugging).

This is the same way it has been since the first beta release.

Got it. Any idea about the extended times I'm seeing. I probably got too impatient and was looking in the folder before it was complete. But it sure as gotten extended times and; you've heard this before; nothing on my system has changed. It's a Win7 media center 4gb ram, and nothing else has been installed that runs on startup or background, i've made sure of that. Thx

It's a Win7 media center 4gb ram, and nothing else has been installed that runs on startup or background, i've made sure of that. Thx No idea. On my system it is getting slightly faster with each new release of X264... so my times are down.

Is your disc drive running close to capacity. or is it fragmented? -- if so, that can slow it down quite a bit.

Another possibility is that the heatsink on your processor has gotten dirty over time and the processor is overheating. When that happens your system automatically lowers the supply voltage and slows the processor down to cool it off. X264 pushes your unit to the limit (especially in pass 2) and if your system is ever likely to overheat -- that's the time it will.

One way to check it is to download CPUID Hardware Monitor (it's free) and look at the processor wattage over the course of a long encode (both passes). If it ever drops... that's your problem. Some time back, when my heatsink wasn't seated properly, I saw mine drop from 100w to 32w in pass 2 -- and it was running at about 1/3 speed when it happened. A reseat and some new thermal compound fixed it.
