I processed X-men First Class as movie only and it picks the movie with commentary. I checked one of the other forums and it said that the larger file has commentary and to pick the next one down by using the Mode 'other movie only playlist' and choose the correct one for the length of the film. When I choose the slightly smaller file, save it and go back to check it, 'other movie only playlist' is not checked and the the larger file is still highlighted. What am I doing wrong?

That's just the way it works. When you select one of the options in "Other movie-only playlist" it is still a "movie-only backup", so when you open the menu subsequently the "movie-only backup" is selected. You should concentrate on what is displayed on the "stream" tab; the items in this list will change depending on which playlist you selected. Also note that near the bottom of the BDRB application window the "Approximate source content" field displays the duration for the selected playlist.

That being said, it would be nice if, when you open the "Other movie-only playlist" dialogue, the currently selected playlist was hilighted, instead of just defaulting to the top item in the list.

The correct playlist for X-men First Class is 00800, and the time should be 02:11:42.894. You still need to select your audio preference from the audio list though! :p

Hi!

Actually, for "X-Men First Class" 00800.MPLS and .00850.MPLS are byte for byte and bit for bit identical (3,910 bytes).

Likewise, 00801.MPLS and .00851.MPLS are byte for byte and bit for bit identical (3,686 bytes).

When loaded into tsMuxer, each of the four .MPLS files display a total time of 02:11:42.886

Yes all of those playlists are equivalent, I was just trying to be precise to avoid confusion!

BD-RB reports the time I reported:

BD Rebuilder v0.39.01 (beta)
- Source: XMEN_FIRST_CLASS
- Input BD size: 28.35 GB
- Approximate total content: [02:11:42.894]

I guess I wasn't clear - IIRC, either of the first two play with the proper audiostream (00800 and 00850), while the other two (00801 and 00851) utilize the "Director's Commentary" audiostream...

Thanks all. I wanted to make sure before I wasted another BD disc.

I wish there was a good way to always select the proper stream. Right now BD-RB is correct 95+% of the time... but I'm really not aware of any way to get it more accurate.

Actually Jdobbs there is one maybe atm but it requires AnyDVD. Maybe you could ask slysoft for some help? When the disc is BD+ protected AnyDVD reports the "correct" playlists in the AnyDVD status window

I looked at that, or at least a post on their forum describing it. If I understand it correctly I don't think its really the answer as it would work on very few discs. But I'm willing to give anything a try.

Do you really think that they would offer to help? If SlySoft ever gets around to releasing a real version of CloneBD, it would be a direct competitor to BDRB.

Maybe but at the moment it isnt out yet. So if BDRB can make it work and then you CloneBD comes out then it would be helpful yes. Cause people would have the choice. Stick with BDRB or go with CloneBD or both. If this was built in, it's always a bonus.

@JD: well maybe it could be "tweaked" to report the playlist if the disc has AACS and not only BD+ :)

@ricoman (and of course setarip and my other friends on the doom forum), thank you for posting the playlist file. I have not logged on to Doom9 for nearly 2 years due to various personal reasons, but it is just so great to be back. This was the first thread I have visited since coming back and wanted to briefly thank you for the info and just say a quick hello to all.

Thanks again,
Regards.
