doesn't the guide say? let's see..

Step 2: Burning

Select one of the following options:

I have a number of .bin/.cue files and want to use Fireburner (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/fireburner.htm)
I have a number of .bin/.cue files and want to use CDRWin (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/cdrwin.htm)

hmm.. I guess it does say so ;) I wouldn't suggest nero, many people have had problems with it.. fireburner also creates some problems for some people but has worked flawlessly for me and cdrwin does not recognize my burner so I have little choice in the matter.

CDRWin will not detect my burner either, is there anything we can do?

I also have a bigger problem

I used DVD2SVCD ver 1.0.6 build 4 to rip Reservoir Dogs. I followed the tutorial and did everything it told me to do. But, after the rip, it did not leave me with any .bin or .cue files. The files are:

DVD2AVI_PROJECT_FILE.d2v
dvd2svcd project file.d2s
dvd2svcd_log.txt
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.vob

I thought that there would be bin and cue files to burn, but they're not there! Any help would be greatly appreciated

I recommend you go to the DVD2SVCD newbie forum and post the entire contents of your dvd2svcd_log.txt. You should definately have more files than that (unless you ran out of hard drive space - which looks quite possible based on your file list).

As for burning, I recommend CDRDAO. It is a command line CD burning tool that quite simply just 'gets the job done'. If you're not comfortable with the command line, TSCV has a pretty good simple GUI for it (at the bottom of the tools tab). It's a fairly big piece of software if all you're going to use it for is burning, but even so, it's probably smaller than Nero or EZCDCoasterCreator.

I'm only new at this, but I think the problem was that I did not have any ASPI Layers installed when I did the rip. I have since installed them and ripped the dvd with smartripper. It worked better, leaving me with the 5 vob files.

Whereabouts can I get CDRDAO? I would definetely like to try it out. Thanks for the help, I'm going to try the process again, and then I'll be back!

although i agree with doom9's remark that nero is NOT the number one choice for doing this, many people seem to use it without problems. If you want to try upgrade to 5572 and use "file-burn image", open the cue-file and burn.
