Ripbot AVCHD Encoding Issue

I am experiencing slow and jerky fast forwarding/rewinding while streaming AVCHD files encoded using ripbot to my PS3. I also noticed that skipping through the video on my computer is slow and the video becomes distorted for a few seconds before it returns to playing normally.

My issue appears to be isolated to Ripbot AVCHD encodings. If I stream an .m2ts AVCHD video file that I got elsewhere (e.g. off a blu-ray disc), FF/RW/Seek is smooth.

Does anyone else have this issue or know what the solution is?

That seems to have worked. What exaxtly does that line do and is there any need to take it out for encoding other things?

It inserts Keyframes (called I-Frames) every 24 pictures.
Default is a range of 240 or 250 frames, or a scene-change, whatever happens first.
So seeking becomes more friendly, but compressability goes down.
With Blurays framerange of 24 becomes standart, with opengop-feature you can use framerange of 48, but some softwareplayer struggle at open-gop.
