But can you convert the whole disc to DVD 9 ? Please clarify - Do you want to convert the Full Blu-ray disc to DVD format that fits on a DVD9 (This is NOT possible) or do you want to compress the Full Blu-ray disc so that it fits on a DVD9 and can be played as a Blu-ray/AVCHD (This CAN be done)?

Unfortunately, I would like to convert the Full Blu-ray disc to DVD format that fits on a DVD9,
But if you can do it for the movie only, why not the whole disc ?

IIRC the menus on a Blu-Ray are not compatible with the structure of a DVD, so a full back-up will not be available, only a movie only.

Hmm, which part of "no" is not clear to you? For the third time, No. :scared:

Why would you assume that--BD-RB is not mentioned by you or anyone here.

I was tempted to tell you a BD could be "reauthored" to DVD, i.e. that you could start from scratch with a DVD authoring program and [try to] recreate the functionality of a BD menu, but I don't even think *that* is possible either. Too many differences not only in menu capabilities, but also there's some very tricky stuff in re: video/audio featuresets as well.

If you need/want a DVD-format disc with full menus & all extras, your best option is to buy a commercial DVD.

As a noob, have learnt from this post, bought a Blu-Ray, trying to future-proof, have a Good Pioneer BD Re-writer in a external caddy, PC died recently, got a laptop, so i can play the BD thru my laptop to TV,
Trying to convert as an exercise really, ideally, with not to much settings to change, 1 click would be great,
What's the best player Windows blu ray player app ?

I expect there can never be a "one-click menus & all BD-to-DVD". For playback, Arcsoft TotalMediaTheatre is IMO the best payware. Media Player Classic Home Cinema the best freeware.

I guess there's no accounting for what "bugs" different people. For example, it may "bug" most members who read this thread to note that, although you've already been answered several times by me and others, you've now found a fourth way to ask the same question ;>}

Forums are for asking questions ?

JJB said the menu's are not compatible with a DVD structure, OK, someone get technical, what's the prob with the menu's if the movie can ?
