@jdobbs

In light of the obvious complexity and difficulty thusfar encountered regarding DTS Express audio, I wonder if you could do an "end run" and circumvent the actual problem by adding "disc splitting" capability to BD Rebuilder - and, therefore, no compression needed.

No, I haven't wrapped my head around the menu working with both discs, or the (I sense) potential difficulty applying this to episodic Blu-ray discs - but then again, if I could do that, I'd be a clone of jdobbs ;>}

BTW - While (successfully) lightly experimenting with "Disc 1" of this concept, I discovered that earlier menu, PIP, etc. problems encountered with SONY 360 players DISAPPPEARED when I simply copied an earlier problematic "BD"(DVD)9 (7.3GB) to an actual (25GB) BD-R - apparently because the 360 identifies the media as "DVD+R" (correct) and "AVCHD" (Incorrect, as far as I know. The disc is Blu-ray compliant). The 360 identifies the BD-R (7.3GB on a 25GB BD-R) as "BD-R" and "BDMV" (Correct).

So it seems that the actual type of media is a determining factor in the playback behavior of the SONY 360

The problem is not the output size of the backup, the problem in my understanding is the mux of the DTS-E track, at this moment is imposible to mux the track without problems in playback...

And if there were no compression or conversion necessary, I believe there would be no new multiplexing required either...

from what i know jdobbs is trying another route. Demuxing the entire pip stream vid&audio. Compress that one and then mux it back it. If i remember correctly the demuxing goes "sort of" fine, its the remuxing that was giving issues.
