Hello ppl,

maybe any of you have an idea what is going on here. I have been using dvd-rb/ rb-opt / cce for a while now with the same settings to re-encode dvd9 (adjusted in dvd-remake) to dvd5.

All my movies are a perfect size except the one I am working with now. 'The Mechanic' No matter what I do, it keeps coming out as a undersized dvd (4,29 GB) I played around with CCETargetSectors, min. and max. bitrate settings in rb.ini, but it stays undersized. Drives me nuts. When I check everything after the prepare in rb, with rb-opt, it tells me the outcome will be 4,36 GB but after the process it is 4,29 GB.

I even downloaded an already made dvd5 (size 4,36 GB) Didn't change anything. Re-encoded it with rb and again 4,29 GB????

What am I missing here? Anyone?

Example:

after remake: 5,92 GB (6.357.874.688 bytes)
after rebuilder: 4,30 GB (4.624.154.624 bytes)
- Reduction Level for DVD-5: 68,6%
- Overall Bitrate : 5.701Kbs
- Space for Video : 3.694.506KB
- HIGH/LOW/TYPICAL Bitrates: 5.702/400/5.701 Kbs

You may want to look at this thread:

Do you use the pro version or free? Which encoder version?

I really wouldn't consider 4.29GB to be undersized. That is easily in the margin of expected error.

I am a PRO user, and also a idiot

After day's of forum reading and testing I found out I did not 'tick' the 'Enable Bitrate Redistribution' Now everything seems to be ok again.

Sorry for wasting your time and thanks for the response :)
