This is my first attempt at encoding divx. Ok I am trying to encode "Evolution" in FlaskMPEG and have tried so many different settings and it keeps giving me a stutter every 10 seconds or so. Anyone that has no problems with this could you please post here what settings you choose for all the different settings? Here is what FlaskMPEG Control Panel tells me about the movie I ripped to the hard drive:

Total File Size: 4726 Mbytes
Video Size: 720 x 480 Pixels
Fps: NTSC 29.97 fps
Detected fps: FILM 23.976 fps
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Bitrate: 9800000 bps
Video Structure: Interlaced

Ok under FlaskMPEG Options what should I choose for:

Under Video tab:

Frame Size:
Width: ?
Height: ?

iDCT Options: ?

Time Base fps: ?

Video Structure:
Reconstruct progressive video ?
Deinterlace output (slow) ?
Blend instead of interpolate ?
Threshold ?

Under Audio tab:

Audio Mode ?
1. Direct stream copy
2. Decode audio
3. Don't process audio

Sampling Frequency ?
1. 48000 Hz
2. 44100 Hz
A. Same as input

Under Post Processing tab:

Resizing quality options:
1. Nearest Neighbourg
2. Bilinear Filtering
3. Bicubic filtering
4. HQ bicubic Filtering

Ok under AviPlugin 0.58 Config what should I choose for:

Video Codec
1. VDOnet VDOwave
2. Cinepak Codec by Radius
3. Intel Indeo(R)Video R3.2
4. Microsoft Video 1
5. Microsoft RLE
6. Microsoft H.263 Video Codec
7. Microsoft H.261 Video Codec
8. Indeo(R) video 5.04
9. DivX MPEG 4 Video Codec
A. Keyframe ever ? seconds
B. Compression Control (1-100)?
C. Data Rate (Kilobits per Second) (1-6000)?
10. Full Frames (uncompressed)

Select Output>>
1. AVI output
2. bbMPEG Encoder
3. Link to Avisynth 1.0Beta31
4. OpenDML AVI output

One encoding my Video Structure Output always says Progressive. Is this right? How do I change it?

Can anyone go through all these settings for me on what works for them. I have tried so many guids and none of them work. I always get a stutter every 10 seconds or so. I have defragged constantly and make sure absolutely nothing is running in the background while encoding. Here is my system:

AMD 800MHz T-Bird
Giga-Byte MB
256MB SDRAM
40GB Maxtor HD
MSI GeForce 2 GTS
Sound Blaster PCI 128

Please help me friends!

make sure the keyframe interval is not every one second. change it to like every 10seconds. and also when you play the video in windows media player 6.4 make sure that under the codec properties the post processing slide bar is all the way to the left. Have you also tried burning the video and playing it on another computer?
