I want to install audio editor that has a good compressor that I can use on wav files.

Is Audacity's compressor any good?

What audio editor would you recommend that has a good dynamic range compressor?

I have no idea how good Audacity's internal compressor sounds, but why do you want to restrict yourself to built-in effects processors? Any decent audio editor supports VST plugins, and there is an abundance of high quality free VST compressors available.
Otherwise get some free mastering plugins. The best of them can be found here:

I really like Sweetboy's stuff (T-Sledge and Volcano), take a look here:

There are hundred, maybe thousand compressor plugins worldwide available for audio editors.
You can get different compressor plugins for directx, vst, ladspa, nyquist,etc..interfaces.
Some compressors are more suitable for voice processing,
some for solo music instruments, some for mastering a whole project.
Some add tube compressing, some act more like a brickwall limiter.
So make your choice.
The audacity website will lead you to some freeware plugin sites.
And of course there are a many commercial plugins to buy :p
