I have an Mkv file that i want to remux to ts/m2ts, to then be able to watch it through my Ps3, as i have done hundreds of times.

The problem with this one is that after the remux is complete (i tried Mkv2vob, tsMuxer and PS3muxer) the length of the video decreases and the audio is out of sync (both while watching it through the PC and the Ps3).

I believe i found the source of the problem.
When i go into Properties-->MediaInfo in Media Player Classic, i can read the following:

As you can see the frame rate is 29.970 fps, but just below the original frame rate stated is 20.141 fps.

I believe the problem is that the remuxing programs believe that the actual frame rate is 20.141 and not 29.970.

Could it be?

How can i resolve it?

Thank you.

P.S.: If you want the name of the file, send me a private message.

Frame rate : 29.970 fps -> frame rate that's defined by the container
Original frame rate : 20.141 fps -> frame rate that the video had when it was muxed to mkv

I believe the problem is that the remuxing programs believe that the actual frame rate is 20.141 and not 29.970.
Since the frame count didn't change the video length should increase when playing X frames with 20.141fps instead of 29.970fps.
Looks more like instead of 20.141fps the muxers use the container frame rate of 29.970 fps. (fixed frame count played faster (29.970 > 20.141) -> shorter play time)

-> you might want to try to extract the streams and then mux the raw streams or look if the muxer allows you to set the frame rate of the video manually (at least tsmuxer should allow it).

I tried everything, it doesn't work.

The fact is that this video is coming from a 29.970 fps dvd, so i can't see how it can be at that frame rate.

Can i send you (or anybody else) a PM with a link to the video so you can see for yourself?

Then it's simpler as thought: rerip your DVD and use the rip in multiavchd, which has a specific option for PS3 (its author has himself a PS3).
