View Full Version : Why you do not need VDubMod any more
Hi,
finally, I found the solution to opening MPEG2 files. took me years enter the correct search phrase into google.
So we do not need VDM any more, do we?
- MPEG2?
there are input plugins for recent VDub: Mpeg2, QT, MKV, DirectShow etc. Just have a look into the Forum http://forums.virtualdub.org
- Multiple Audio tracks?
Try AviMuxGui.
- fixing bad MP3-VBR headers? (eg. from [link removed])
Mh, I don't know yet. I do not believe VD handles this correctly.
Anything I forgot?

VirtualDub supports MP3-VBR for a couple of versions now...

How about the option to export frames directly to .png or .tga instead of to the clipboard? If you're trying to take a LOT of shots, the clipboard is a real pain in the ass and I'd prefer to have it export my frame shots directly.

I am pretty certain Virtualdub lets you export a selection as a sequence of images, in any of several common formats.

Why do you assume other people only use it for the same reasons you would? I use it extensively as an external viewer for AvsPmod. I also use it for encoding lossless AVI files from screen capture videos. I couldn't care less whether it opens MPEG-2 video files or handles multiple audio streams or VBR MP3 since none of those has anything to do with what I use VirtualDub for.
