I have been building a presentation using an old version (version 8) of Corel Presentations. I linked a short movie with an avi extension that I encoded with at a bit rate of 2000 using the H264 codec using FFDShow. It won't play. When I link to a version with an older codec say Cinepak it plays fine, but those versions of the video have blurry text (it's a screen capture video). Any ideas on how to fix this. (I already tried all 3 options for setting H264 in FFDShow-turning it off means even the controls won't display when I try to start the video)

I have no idea how 'Corel Presentations' decodes videos. But support for Cinepak but not H.264 smells like VFW (Video for Windows) ;)
Using H.264 video with VFW is not really recommended, but it should work (with some limitations) with a suitable VFW Codec (not DirectShow filter!) installed. Make sure you have an up-to-date ffdshow (http://www.xvidvideo.ru/ffdshow-tryouts-project-x86-x64/ffdshow-tryouts-project-svn-3886-x86-x64.html) installed and make sure you install the "VFW interface". Also make sure you have H.264 decoding enabled in the ffdshow VFW (not DirectShow!) configuration...
