Hi there..
Anyone know any decent freeware or opensource projects for video editing?
Something like Open Movie Editor for Linux (http://www.openmovieeditor.org/) but windows?
The only one i know of is Windows Movie Maker but there must be a non M$ video editor about for windows?

Try VideoPad by NCH Software. They used to offer a free version and a commercial version separately, but currently I can find only the commercial version for download. But when you uninstall it, they give you the option to disable a couple of features and use it as a free version indefinitely.

Well, there are some projects... none mature (sigh):
http://www.cinefx.org/
http://vivia-video.org/
http://trac.videolan.org/vlmc/
I suggest you to consider freeware instead:

Anyway, here's a good place to start:

PiTiVi can theoretically run on Windows and it is becoming usable. Maybe within a year there will be a usable Windows version.

Too many non-functional, but NLE's I've used to edit that actually work are Avisynth and Lightworks
