Convert HDMI 1.4 3D into 1080p Side-by-Side 3D?

I'm wondering if any of the Avisynth masters out there can suggest a script for converting a stereo 720p capture from HDMI 1.4 format stereoscopic 3D into a side-by-side 1080p image, 960x1080 per eye?

HDMI 1.4 stereo 720p is 1280x1470, with 30 blanking lines separating the images. Here's a shot:

The top image is for the left eye, the bottom for the right.

Is this sort of re-composition work a bit too much for Avisynth? If so, can any one recommend a simple way to do the conversion? Right now I'm having to create two resized videos with VirtualDub and then putting them side-by-side in Premiere - and it takes ages...

Just wrote it in the browser, not able to test at the moment. Of course you'll have to replace the source line with your own video source.

Um, wow, thanks. You've no idea how much time this will save me. Worked first time and the results are perfect.

Essentially I can capture HDMI 1.4 stereo 3D, but it needs this reformatting in order to work on YouTube 3D. I could resize to 720p but the quality is really poor on fast-moving video. At least by giving a 1080p source, I have the option of running the 1080p encode full-screen on my 720p laptop!
